To assist with the growing needs of an expanding customer base, Asido Biologicals has hired Miller Greenlee as National Sales and Marketing Manager for the Agronomy Division. Based in Starkville, the Mississippi State University graduate and outdoorsman joined the Asido team on May 1.
Greenlee grew up in an extended farming family in the Mississippi Delta. Like most kids around agriculture, by age 10 Greenlee was driving better than most adults, from running tractors in the field to tooling around the open land in a pickup. The experiences shaped him.
“I drove tractors, combines, sprayers, rolled out polypipe, and did everything you can think of in the farm world,” he says. Though he thought he’d found his life’s work, Greenlee decided to embark on a different way to be involved with agriculture by joining one of the industry’s leaders, hoping to make a difference. “A goal of mine has been to be involved in agriculture in more ways than one. I had some help and advice with that decision from some great family and friends, including one of my greatest mentors, my dad.”
Greenlee — who has spent his career at Monsanto and Bayer in a variety of positions involving sales, account management, supply/logistics and distribution — took the advice to heart and was involved throughout high school with the USDA insect management program and worked checking row crops (corn, soybeans and cotton) in the Mississippi Delta, which provided a solid foundation for his future career. He worked with Monsanto during college, leading to a tenure at that company.
Now Greenlee’s looking to make a further difference in a relatively new segment of the agriculture industry of the U.S. that has an intensified focus on health from the ground up. Agriculture can be a challenging sector, but his passion to see it thrive keeps him focused on adding value.
“The American farmer is a vital part of our country, our economic success and even our national security,” he says. “Now more than ever, companies here are investing into the biologicals segment because they recognize the importance of sustainability. Having your soil health at its best sets a great foundation for success in growing a healthy crop — that’s what Asido does. Soil health leads to many variables that will help plant health. Healthier plants lead to better outcomes and a better sustainable environment overall.”
At Asido, Greenlee will work on all aspects of the business, including sales strategy and execution, account management, business development, product delivery and logistics, and other general customer-facing responsibilities. He’ll be expanding Asido’s brand through marketing-related initiatives with agricultural organizations across the nation, creating strategic partnerships to advance efforts in providing sustainable solutions to growers.
“Miller’s practical knowledge from a lifetime in agriculture, combined with his passion to serve America’s food producers, will enhance our outreach in a variety of positive ways,” says Asido Advisor Lee Rivenbark.
Greenlee will join in Asido’s decades-long work on a groundbreaking approach to healthier, more sustainable agricultural and livestock production, using a variety of tested, multi-strain, naturally grown microbial products.
“Today’s growers are looking for solutions that increase yield and improve resistance to stressors, all with a good return on investment,” says Asido Partner James Henderson. “We’re happy to have Miller on board to help us spread the good news about what we can do to help them achieve it.”
